Stakeholder & First Nations Engagement (Kirsten & Margaret)

●      Section 56 (no update)

●      Barrick (no update)

●      Cascade Lower Canyon Community Forest

○      Kirsten discussed residential complaint made to CLCCF regarding bike traffic on Stulkawhits FST

○      Shawn Dearden will visit the spouse of the complainant to discuss

●      FLNRO (no update)

●      BCORMA

○      Kirsten provided a brief update on the BCORMA AGM that Margaret Althaus attended. The most notable discussion point centred around a civil lawsuit against three parties including Okanagan Trail Riders Association (OTRA) after a member fell and injured himself.

○      Kirsten will review the facts with Kent Jorgenson of OTRA and review insurance options with OASIS, if any are available.

●      YTD Performance against budget

●      Insurance update

 

Trail Maintenance & Planning (Jack)

●      Trail Maintenance status:

○      Face slappers on Orange crush, and motor world done, Beaver trail needs work.

●      Trail Restoration status

●      Trail Signage status

○      Trail marker signage will be installed beginning in August.

○      Trail Closed signage will be installed as needed while installing trail marker signs.

●      Next Trail Maintenance Day (July 16th) Jack will let Kirsten know which trails to focus on.

○      Focus on beaver tail, and all face slappers, grounds around kids track

 

Grounds Maintenance & Planning (Kirsten)

●      Learner Loop

○      Whoops have been adjusted to make them less aggressive

●      Campground Issues

○      Campers in the non-gravel sites have asked for consideration to put gravel in, in the future.

 

Event Planning

 

●      FVDRA Rodeo and Poker Run 2022 (Margaret)

○      Cancelled for this year planning for next year

 

ORV Funding (Margaret & Kirsten)

●      Trails and Construction Funding

o   Approximately $900-1500  left for trails

●      Education and Safety (no update)

 

2023 Planning

●      2023 Executive Plans

○      Executive members were asked to let Kirsten know if they are planning to step down next year so she can plan to fill the positions.

○      We could consider looking for someone to update trail maps and plan races and other events.

●      2023 Planning

○      Some ideas:

■      Construction – Staging area outhouse & picnic tables ($5k)

■      Construction – Communal firepit enhancements (adding 4 more benches, wind screen and cover.) (Roughly $6000)

■      Construction – Adult play/skills area

■      Construction – Add four new campsites near learners loop so parents can watch kids ride.

■      Trail Restoration – Arts Farts

■      Event – ?? (24 hr, start planning for over 100, and see what can be done, planning to start November, proposal to come in September - Sarah)

■      Club event to celebrate opening of learners loop

■      Start events small and work way up, May Rodeo? (Maybe be the starting opening for the kids learner’s loop)
